A student who stabbed and killed a university student who refused to accept love has been sentenced to life in prison.
Prosecutors allege that the defendant, who allegedly stabbed and killed a second-year hotel management student, Tsigeeda Girmay, at Arbaminch University Chamo Campus on January 23, 2014, confessed to the crime and turned himself in to police.
Gamo Zone Police arrested the defendant and presented evidence to the prosecutor from university students, security guards and a doctor.
Defendant allegedly stabbed her friends in the face with a machete and stabbed her nine times in the face. The university staff and students rushed her to Arba Minch General Hospital, but she died at 5:00 pm, according to prosecutors.
