The veteran Ethiopian cyclist Gereme Denboba has passed away.
Famous cyclist Geremu Dunboba was one of the pioneers in the sports field by participating in the 1956 Australian Melbourne cycling race in which Ethiopia competed in the field for the first time at the international level.
To his surprise, Dunboba participated in various cycling competitions and won many trophies and medals. In addition to his domestic competitions, he has also represented Ethiopia in various Olympic venues.
According to the information we received from the state-owned Ethiopian television, the cycling sports life story shows that he participated in the 1956, 1960 and 1968 Olympic Games organized by Gorgorsawianu and achieved various results for Ethiopia.
On the African stage, he wrote history by leading the team participating in the 1973 All-Africa Games in Lagos, Nigeria, and winning a gold medal. Cyclist Dunboba passed away yesterday, Wednesday, February 15, 2015, at the age of 90.
