Ministry of Education announced, the first phase of the national higher education entrance examination has been completed successfully all across the nation. Though the first round of the exam was completed, some critical situations, which leave their black marks, has happened, among them

The Ministry of Education has announced that the 12th grade 2014 first round social science students exam has been completed.Though the first round of the exam was completed, some critical situations, which leave their black marks, has happened, the likes of, among them, are the collapse of bridge at Hawassa University.

The ministry said – in a statement – that out of 595 thousand candidates who sat for the exam, 586 thousand 541 candidates took the exam.

“During the start of the exam, due to the accident of collapsed bridge, which leaves one dead and many others injured,  at Hawassa University and others who, deviations from the education system, decide not to attend the exam at Magdala Amba, Debre Markos, Bahardar and Debretabor universities, a total of 12,787 students left the campus” said professor Birhanu Nega-Minster of Education, Ethiopia – on his media brief upon the successful completion of first round national exam.

Ministry of Education also said – in the statement – “Unlike the others, when the students of Debre Tabor University rioted, one student died and some members of security forces were injured.
