Addis Ababa to build giant twin buildings.
The Reporter, a biggest digital and print magazine in Ethiopia, reported that a 13 billion ETB budget has been signed for the construction of the majestic building between Quara manufacturing plc and Chinese contractor CCECC in Kazanchis area.
The 5,743-square-foot, twin-story building will have 44-story and 30-story buildings. The 219-meter-high 44 + 4-story building will be used for commercial purposes and will be 209 meters higher than the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia’s headquarters.
The 30-story building will be used for residential use and will have three and four bedrooms. It is not part of the agreement with the Chinese company, but when the first phase of the Twin Towers project is completed, another building will be built for parking.
Yekska Construction Management, owned and managed by Woubshet Zakale (PhD), has been contracted to be the project’s chief consultant.
It is said to be one of the tallest buildings in the capital, with its unique design and green space between the twin towers. Construction of the building is expected to take six years.
